B ) Advanced Search, (online OR internet) AND privacy AND protection
C) 1) Santa Clara University, Privacy and the Law, June 2012, June 2013, http://www.scu.edu/ethics/practicing/focusareas/technology/internet/privacy/privacy-law.htmlI believe this source is credible, above all I believe it because it is an EDU site. But this article is also a recent article which proves its timeliness, this article also contains a bunch of sources to help back its point, this also shows credibility.
2) Zhulei Tang, Yu (Jeffrey) Hu, Micheal D. Smith, Protecting Online Privacy: Self-Regulation, Madatory Standards, or Caveat Emptor, April 2005, 33pgs, http://infosecon.net/workshop/pdf/31.pdf
This article is a science article written by accredited people in their field. This article shows timeliness as well as a vast number of sources which back what it says.
3) USA.gov, Know the Risks, Reviewed last June 05, 2013, June 2013, http://www.usa.gov/topics/family/privacy-protection/online.shtml
This source is from this year. This is also a government website so we know that the information shared on it is credible information. This article also has good coverage and the information does work along side other information that I have found.
4) Privacy Rights Clearinghouse, Online Privacy: Using the Internet Safely, July 1995, Revised June 2013, June 2013, https://www.privacyrights.org/fs/fs18-cyb.htm
This site has plenty of sources to back up the information. This site also has good coverage, it follows a lot of information that other sites have. This shows to me that this site is a pretty credible source.
I think that the .gov, .net and even the .edu were the best sources for the information that I am trying to get. I think this because they tend to have the most reliable sources for many reasons. They also tend to be easier to credit, and the information they provide is on the level that I need and want, A more professional/educated l level.
Hi, Cassandra;
ReplyDeleteI agree that you can find credible reliable information in any domain. It can take some effort to verify any webpage and this is another way to limit your results. Thank you for your report.
Cheers,
